I have got into playing a spot of badminton recently ... quite enjoy it ... any other .org members like ruffling feathers with a bat?!!?
![]() I wish I knew which side I was supposed to be serving from ... it all sees a bit random (on the initial serve once it is my turn) ... I just tend to go the opposite side to the opponent as the people I play play regularly and know what they are doing!! ![]() Last edited by Blue_SV650S; 09-09-08 at 01:51 PM. |

Badminton's ace, not played it for a while though so consequently can only vaguely remember the rules.... Prefer tennis really but badminton's a better sport to take up in Britain lol, well anything indoors is really!

![]() *i.e. you can pick up a racquet and play pretty much out of the box, obviously to become 'proper good' takes skill and dedication. Conversely tennis is ruddy hard to simply return the ball (in bounds/not into the net) let alone give a game!! ![]() I could 'make a game' first time I picked up a badminton racquet, a squash racquet, a softball racquet etc etc, but tennis ... not a chance, even being 'fed' the ball, 1 in 5 shots are actually returned in bounds/over the net!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Blue_SV650S; 09-09-08 at 02:05 PM. |

I used to play just below county level when I was younger (and fitter) but then I discovered beer and women

![]() dunno about that, but to be honest from the outside, I think it is prolly the gheyest of all popular racquet sports!! ![]() Before I played it, I figured it was for steers and queers and people that couldn't hack the pace/power of squash!!!! ![]() Now I think it is quite good fun ... especially if you like 'mincing' about whilst you lunge for a shot!! ![]() Last edited by Blue_SV650S; 09-09-08 at 04:14 PM. |

if you ever get to play squash make sure you play somebody of similar level to you. if you play a game against somebody who's played many times we may as well arrange your memorial service now!! you will die of exhaustion..!
