A few questions from a newbie

Firstly hi everyone, been lurking for a while but now need a little advice on a few things. Been watching an SV650 (52 plate) on ebay but i need to know what the situation is with a restrictor kit as i've got a 33 bhp license. Is it ok to do the restriction myself or do i need a certificate? And it's one of the last models with carbs so is it just an inlet manifold restrictor or is there an electronic one as well? I would have thought that as long as i've got the little discs in when i crash the insurance co would be alright with that? (not that i'm planning it)

Auction ends later tonight so some help would be much appreciated.

post the item number up mate-bear in mind that if you buy a bike from someone on the forum rather than ebay you've got a better chance of getting a bike that you knows been looked after-check out the for sale section on here and see if theres anything that matches what your after.
as for restriction i don't know but more intelligent folk will get back to you on that than me

That is the chappie. I'm just after a yes or no as to whether i can fit the restrictor myself and if i need a certificate. Although having thought about it i'd have to do the same whatever bike i get so it's not really a cost consideration.

'Twas certainly me. Been looking for quite a while and have found no SVs for less than a grand, and the ones that were had 35k plus on the clock.

Have read that post. It seems that there's a bit of common sense involved for once. If i crash and it has the washers in it i'm fine, certificate or not. If not i won't be getting anything from the insurance company.

Still need some restrictor info though guys. Is it just an inlet manifold washer or some electronic thing as well. There must be someone with a 33bhp curvy out there???

Suzuki do a slider kit for the Curvy , here is a link to REMOVING one , but read it all through and reverse the process and it will give you an idea of what you are in for

I would put an advert in the "stuff wanted" section of the forum, plenty of people have restricted the curvy (99-02) bikes and de-restricted them, someone may well be able to provide you with the kit for less than the £160+ that FI international suggest they should retail for.

I think the Suzuki slider kit is about £76 , F1 International are ripping you off for a couple of washers
