Just some questions i got

i been meaning to ask few questions for a while now.

firstly what could be the reasoning behind my front cam cover being black and the rear silver? (01 curvey)

And would the injected engine fit the curvey frame? if so any one done it?

1- its been apart for some reason and changed (not because of damage maybes)

2-think it does but a few bits and bobs need done(oil cooler)-do a search as this has been asked a few times

I'd say the front cover may have been really scabby from corrosion, so someone swapped it for the rear? (I'm thinking the engine is a black one) but then why would it be silver on the rear?
Saying this as i've done it...lol. My front one was really bad, so i swapped it with the rear...you can tell because the lug that sticks out for the rad to be mounted on, doesn't have a hole for the bolt on the rear cam cover, they only put a hole in the front one for the bolt

there could be many reasons though

I have a vague recolection that some early SVs had a black engine. In which case the cam cover was replaced for some reason. Be it either mechanical or cosmetic. Does the engine run ok?

Aye, '99 and '00 had black engines in the UK. In 2001 they changed to the lighter grey colour.

This is my 2000 engine...

I believe we got silver top end in 00 here in USA.

Engine runs fine. its a 2000, registered 2001. has a black engine just a silver cam cover on the rear?

2001 had the silver engine in the UK, I would guess that you have an older engine fitted and the correct cam cover for the age of the bike. You also have the charcoal wheels which are from 2000, are you sure it is a 2001 model?

It is a 2000, just registered 2001. sory for the confusion.

its got the black engine, maybe the front cover got scabby they swapped it with the rear and replaced the rear a slightly later siverl one?
