Default SV Gear lever

Ok parts boffins , I have a mission for you . I snapped the peg off the Gear selection Lever on my K3 in an embarrassing Ice related dismount on Monday . I have scoured the net and realised that I would rather have the official Item as it is undercut and allows the peg to break off , not so sure about these 3rd party efforts and I have a Fixer-Peg on for the time being (not ideal I know) . What I would like to know is this .....

Does the Gear selection Lever from the SV1000 fit the 650 ? it looks like exactly the same part and was wondering if it was the same part number or anything . I am betting that it probably has a different sized hole where it fits onto the shaft .

I was going to drill and peg the old lever but have decided against this in case it happens again and I end up potentially damaging even more without having an undercut peg to ping off under stress .

When you drill the remaining lever, the weakest part is now where the hole is. so if you drop the bike again, the lever should snap at the hole position enabling you to do the same again a bit further down

Yes, just drill a hole and use a bolt or one of davies fixer pegs (the permanent fix ones)

Like above, one of DavieSV's permanent fixer pegs will solve it.

Well , we know they are now different part numbers for the 1000 and 650 so that`s one Idea binned . I already have a fixer peg as a backup in my toolkit on the bike so I may as well drill and fix it with one of his £6 pegs then , seems the cheapest option . He really is a lifesaver that bloke , I bought a Fixer-Peg back in October just in case and I am glad I did , cheers for advice guys

File the end of the peg down to a nice radiused edge and you can't really tell it's a fix rather than an aftermarket lever.

Yeah I was more worried about having a Peg that would break off again in the event of another off , I don`t want a cheap-ass lever that would bend and cause more damage so was avoiding the cheaper options
