Default Oily right foot

this one has been confusing me for a while... my right boot gathers oil on the instep of the toe area.

very strange... where can this be coming from? i have a scottoiler but i assume more oil would come out of the left hand side if any.

very random i know!

Clutch cover leaking? You should be able to see if oil is coming out and covering other bits of the bike.

i honestly can't see any oil anywhere on the RH side! Not any sign of oil on the engine face either.

just on my boot... very strange!

ps. yes i have cleaned it off and it came back!

it doesn't appear to be losing any oil, like i say, i can't see any sign of where it could come from to get on my boot... considering my toe is always alongside my brake pedal.

theres a rubber breather hose that runs down the side of the clutch cover sideClipped on with a clamp on one the bolts IIRC) .....could be from there?

My Bandit had a very slow leak from the rhs of the engine as one of the bearings had gone and the gasket had a little hole in. My foot got covered also in oily dirty stuff.

Have you tried checking your oil filter to see if it's attached properly?

The rubber breather hose interested me too... i assumed it was a fuel overflow, no?

This problem is apparent now and also predates an oil/filter change.

The Bandit problem sounds similar.

Have a feel around and see if you can find the same substance on the bike anywhere?

on closer inspection... it could possibly be coming from under the clutch cover.
