Sorry if this has been done to death but I did a search and couldn't find anything specific enough, no more info than 'DID' which doesn't help me (
![]() Anyway gr33k's scared me about not giving my chain enough love so I'm going to get a chain and sprocket set ordered to replace as soon as the bike needs it. Basically I want to know which chain'll be best for my naked sv (1999) and most economic, I don't want to scrimp on it but equally I don't want to be paying extra for something I'm not going to benefit from. I've gathered I'm looking at either DID or a heavy tsunami (tsubaki?) but how heavy do I go and do I need xring or oring? Also what's the best way of swapping the chain? Split the existing one (to keep as a spare) and fit the new one? Cheers ![]()

Hi there, I got a set of chain and sprockets from bandc. they do kits for our bikes. I would just go for the o-ring one and steel sprockets. Although as mine had snapped at the time i went for the xring one. both should be fine. Have you got a scottoiler?

Steel sprockets (15/45 is standard but I'm going to count them to see what mine's at) and an o ring chain if it's well maintained (or scottoiled). I'm going to go for either a tsubaki or a DID (probably a heavy V oring DID) and the naked chain is 110 links as standard.
