I've always thought my viper can was too long, but never had the guts to attack it with an angle grinder!
The other day at work though, we had to order in this high speed drill and diamond cutting disc to cut through a titanium rod that was being used to fuse someones spine! These discs cost £100 and could only be used once, but the rep was telling me they fitted perfectly in a dremel. Perfect for stubbying my exhaust ![]() Quite easy and I'm really pleased with the results. Before: ![]() After: ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by paiste; 27-03-09 at 02:46 PM. |

Sounds great IMHO. Nol ouder, but has more of a throaty rasp when Revved.
When I cut through the can though, most of the wadding used to pack the can had burnt out but only on one side? Being the cheapskate that I am I used the spare stuff from the waste section that I cut off to re-pack. That's probably why it's no louder. If you're thinking of doing it go for it you won't regret it! |

Nice! I've heard they kill a bit of midrange off, but I doubt it's anything to notice on a standard bike.

It certainly made it easier, but as YC said angle grinder would do just as good a job. Just I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to these things.
Alternatively Jimmy James used a hack saw in his thread. Just do a search for "My bargain viper can" and it's on page 2. ![]() |
