Something to bear in mind; cheap disks are a nono (or so I've read)

Funny you said that Dave,
There from an ebay auction, and here' whats at the bottom Q: Hi mate, few questions about the discs. 1. What make are they? 2. What thickness do they have left? 3. Have you checked them for runout to see if they are warped? 4. Is there any play at all on the disc buttons? Thanks. A: Hi there, Here is some further info for you: 1) Make is Braking Point 2)The min is 4.5 and they are over that 3)I haven't checked them for runout as they were given to me off the bike 4) There is some play and quite a few on the disc buttons hence the asking price. One of the the discs has more play than the other. I hope this helps I'm wondering if i should steer clear of them. |

see if anyone's heard of braking point.
Movement in the discs isn't the end of the world. You can get repair kits etc.

Aren't most bike discs floating or semi-floating? meaning there's supposed to be movement?

would depend on what K1 forks you have 1000 are 320mm, 750 310mm...
OEM from suzuki are about £120 each... another thing to remember when getting discs is: how are you going to drive your speedo? usual thing for this is magnets in the buttons and a hall sensor.. so you will need even number of buttons e.g. 8 and not 7 or 9.. the curvy speedo should only use 4 magnets. There 750 forks i believe, I was under the impression they were 320 mm discs i'd need, feck i'd better check now, dont want to be splashing out and get stung with the wrong set.
The speedo i'll run off the back wheel, seem to be the easiest way to do it. Worst case i have to pick up soem magnets and sort that out, but thats a good point 8 holes 4 magnets ![]() |
