Hi all,
After 6 months not riding I got my SV MOT'd today after passing a mobile speed camera. Hopefully no points. ![]() I have emptied my wallet and bought hagon rear shock/spring and front progressive springs and oil. The question is, is it sensible to pay for the fork seals to be changed at the same time? I don't really want to spend money where it is not needed etc as labour is expensive! I really did forget how fun the SV is! Ricky_t |

If your fork seals aren't shagged, no need to replace them
![]() If they aren't leaking, no need.

You're not planning on getting this done at a dealer are you? |

I was thinking about getting it done at the local dealer. I am not that confident doing it by myself tbh. Dealer quoted £120 including seals and labour. The dealer recommended getting the seals done at the same time.
I don't have enough mechanical friends. ![]() |

They would at £20/hr.
Sure there is someone near to you with a set of spanners.

without having to start a new thread, can you do fork oil with a hand pump, pump it out and just fill in new stuff?

I have been convinced to give it a go. I will post photos later next month when I start. I have the tools, I am sure with help here I can't go too wrong!
