Smile stutter on constant throttle on FI bike

hi everyone! I have an 05 pointy 9000 miles with pipercross air filter and a baffleless race can which i have a couple of questions maybe somebody could answer. Also there's a PC III on it a while back to see if it would smooth the FI throttle response (running a downloaded map).

For the past while i've noticed that there is a slight stutter when on a constant throttle. i mostly notice this at low speed on a constant throttle about town in 2nd gear prob about 4-5500 rpm. when you open the throttle more its not noticeable. I did the TPS mod in the hope that it would cure the problem but it didnt. I also syncronised the throttle bodies. I did notice that the was white oily gunk in one of the crankcase breather hoses but i think this may be normal? Also noticed recently that it's consuming some oil which it hadn't been doing previously. BTW there is a scottoiler installed if that makes any difference. I already checked the rear wheel freedom of rotation and it was fine. I should say that i used to be reasonably happy with the throttle response except in very slow corners where it was very on/off (hadn't discovered the TPS mod at that stage).

As always any help greatly appreciated

Maps too lean then, or you have an air leak.

where should i look for an air leak? the only pipework i can see are breather hoses, fuel hose and pair system hoses

ok an easy way since you can change maps easily is to put a standard filter back in it and the standard map. That will rule out any problem other than PC map.

just a follow-up - i tried putting back in the original air filter and a zero map on the PCIII. However, the problem is still there, it still has an on/off feel on a constant throttle at about 4-4.5k revs in 1st and about 5k ish revs in 2nd. I changed the spark plugs a short while ago, checked the throttle cables play, TPS adjust, fast idle, balanced throttle bodies, checked chain and rear wheel rotation, but issue is still there - is it just that v-twin fuel injection feels like this? where should i check for air leaks?
thanks

Gah. EFI sucks.

Check for air leaks around all the usual spots, TBs properly held into the heads, Airbox properly seated on TBs.

TBH i have a feeling this only started happening after i had the airbox off probably for the first time, but i have had it off numerous times since so i am not sure how it could not be sealed at the throttle body connections - is it possible that i have over tightened the TB clamps? is there any trick to tell if i have a leak there?
thanks again

It'd show at tickover most likely. Air filter seated down properly and stuff?

Maybe i just need to get it set up properly on a dyno, as i just can't seem to spot any air leaks. Something i have noticed is when it is sitting idling and i rev the engine the revs then die quite low and only return back up to full idle after a couple of minutes. The hesitation at 4500rpm seems more noticable if i have brought my speed back down to the limit on a constant throttle just after having accelerated quite hard, i think this is when the hesitation happens and for me this is usually about town at the speed limit. Is it normal that the revs die just after reving the engine? ie. too much fuel been dumped in
thanks
