Default Pillion - what needs to change?

I am aware that there a few of you on here do a fare few miles with a pillion on your sv. I have a sv pointy and am kitting up my girlfriend so we can do some decent rides two-up.

She is always sad she is leftout when its a nice day and i want to go for a ride, im happy to have her on the back, even if i have to ride a little slower/smoother.

anyway my question to you guys/girls is what do you do/change if anything! on your sv before a pillion ride???

Increase rear preload and get the tyres pressures correctly. I can't remember if on the 650 suzuki suggests 36 front 42 rear or not for two up riding. However, suggested pressures are in the manual and on the sticker on top of the chain guard.

What bike, what tyres, how much do you and your wrench weigh?

I would not say I ride overly slowly 2-up, I leave my tyre pressures exactly the same.

Can vouch for that.

Emmm was mentioned on a thread before, quick shifting in higher gears? Makes gear changing more smooth.

Brake more progressively, hold tank with knees, use engine braking more..

Meh, other people know better, cum'on, post you fountains of knowledge

I have a GSXR1000 shock on mine and don`t touch anything no matter what the load is on my bike , you can deal with stuff without the faffery . My tyre pressures are 36 front 42 rear with Avon Storms and I don`t touch them for anything . All I have done is fit a Triboseat so the Badgeress`s bum stays put , I hardly use the brakes anyway so let the engine braking do the work , the only time I give it Berries is on Motorway slip roads so she is ready for that , the rest of the time I keep away from going past 7k and nice short changes remove any snatchiness being transferred to her . Just ride as smoooooooooth as a melted Malteser down your codpiece

I must admit, i dont adjust anything when my Mrs goes pillion, cant be bothered TBH.
Partly though, i dont know much about the differences between the levels of preload, i know about preload but bike seems fine with them the way it is.
I suppose i should try it .
Big thing i noticed was gripping the tank with my knees while braking as she doesnt grip the handrail, we use 'love handles'.
Slowly getting blipping the throttle and that can help also.
Smoothness is the key, makes it more comfortable for her.
Phil
Edit: triboseat a must, badger just reminded me
