Default Outlook Email Problem

Earlier on Baph got me all set up with Forwarding specific emails to another e-mail account (using rules and alerts settings).

All set up fine, e-mails seem to be coming in and sure enough going out to my desired destinations. But, for some reason they are not actually arriving.

We use an exchange server if that is any help. I have given up on our computer technician (he likes to think he is that, but really he is a tight wad and won't get somebody in to do these things properly), I asked him if it was likely that the server may be blocking automatic forwarding at all (as I'd read it somewhere else) and his reply was, 'narr, I set it all up correctly and can tell you now it won't be doing that'.

If I send a manual e-mail, it arrives fine.

Can you send them internally? I.e send from your own email address to the person sat next to you's okay? What versions of exchange and outlook are you using?

P.S if your computer technician's on a decent wage I'll have his job and not have to get people in to 'get things done properly'.

Internal e-mails sent manually or via autoforward?

The forwarding rules are client rules Stu, are they actually leaving your client? Check the Sent folder.

Dave, not tried that, will have a test with that tomorrow.

Mike, according to the client, they are in sent items which to me means they are not stuck in outbox and not leaving, so for some reason they are lost in between.

Due to the fact that he's using Exchange (with Active Directory & Outlook), the rules defined in the client are actually stored within the account (simple test for that, setup the account on another machine) and are executed on the server side (for rules that check on arrival).

As Plowsie hasn't given full information, and I don't really have the time to get into it today...

He's actually wanting to get emails from the Exchange server to his Blackberry. I've not touched a Blackberry, but from a quick scout on the net, the software required to get the Blackberry talking to Exchange is, well, a little steep for a single user.

So the workaround, was to create a webmail account on Vodafone (his network), set the Blackberry to use that, and forward emails from Exchange to Vodafone. I walked him through how to setup the forwarding rule.

Plowsie, do the emails get sent sucessfully to Vodafone? Login on the webpage from a computer to check. If they do, then your problem would be that the Blackberry isn't setup right for Vodafone. That I've never done, so can't really help with easily.

If you can send/receive emails on the Blackberry, it could be simply that Vodafone doesn't support "push" - which means you have to manually check emails, or setup the Blackberry to check every x mins automatically.

I know O2imail does support "push" but I've no clue about Vodafone.

Got to the computer this morning and have found a load of 'Undeliverable' e-mails from 'System Administrator' this morning. No reason given though which is odd, it just says:

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Subject: ----------
Sent: 21/09/2009 16:31

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

'Stu Other' on 21/09/2009 16:31
None of your e-mail accounts could send to this recipient.

I have tried it with two seperate e-mails also, tried it with a Hotmail and a googlemail account that I know both work and will send and receive etc.
