I've just fitted a Givi light kit to my top box ..... and have wired it up as a constant light (off the old number plate wiring) ..
Now they are designed as brake lights, but only LED's so little drain, and they are no brighter than the SV's LED rear lights ..... My question is ..... is it a better use of it to have it running all the time, as an additional light (bear in mind the Topbox sticks out quite a long way behind the usual lights, and the rack does block them a little IMO) .....or, should I wire it up as a brake light ??? ![]() Pic of front of my bike for the hell of it ..... ![]() ![]() Ta .... |

And to increase safety, fit a stubbied exhaust and remove the baffle. |

I'd have to check, but this may be illegal.
I think the "one light per function" to front or rear, may extend to brake lights. However in saying that - it didnt stop me from wiring up auxilliary brake lights to my SV (not my fault that everyone seemed to consider them to be chavvy over rear-wheel LED lights...)

Looks like brake light then !!!
Maybe if I'm clever I wire it in for both ....... but might just got down the brake light route ...... More looking over the wiring diagrams !!! lol. |
