Default Airbox refitting tips

As the bike is nearly back in one piece, are there any tips in refitting the airbox on a curvey.

I removed it to get to the ingnition connector in front of the airbox

Leave the boots on the carbs and just pop it down onto the lips. Get rear one aligned then push it back a little, then push down and it pops on. Then just reach inside and make sure the lip is rolled over the right way all around both carb inlets.

Do you use any lube, vasaline or red rubber grease to ease the refitting

Nah there's usually bit of oil on them from the airbox anyway.

If they're very cold it can be a pain.

They should be ok though, just flexing them around warms them up. Give it a go it's not massively hard.

Yep, its the first time I've taken the airbox off. Its one of those things there's a knack to doing it. Cheers YC

Hmmm, I always do it with the boots on the airbox and reach inside to push them over the carbs.

Hot air gun or some other kind of heat works wonders though.

That works too, just then you have to mess with the screws with less access. Many ways to skin a cat.

Long screwdriver and making sure the screws have plenty of copperslip.
