Default Dodgy speedo drive?

Hi there, i own an 03 sv650s in silver,

Most of the time my speedo does not work and sits at 0 but occasionaly it starts to work as it should for a short period of time.

Could this be due to loose connections/dirt buildup or am i in need of a new speedo drive?

Many thanks,

James

Wop front wheel off, check rotor. chances are the ears'll be snapped off or it'll come out in pieces. New one's about 18quid. Get the right model or you'll be seeing double.

i had exact same problem on my k3. It was the rotor, would work then sit at 0, wiggle cable on from wheel and worked a little. The rotor was knackered when i took from wheel off. Rotor has 4 'ears'

Superglue the bits of the rotor back on and carefully reassemble.

Hello speedo! No more speeding paranoia!

I had same problem, rotor was mashed, but actually upon fitting of a new rotor it turned out not to be the whole problem, and that the lower cable and sensor part was dodgy on mine. I got and fitted a replacement and have had no more problems since. Search for my thread about it if you want more info.
