Default A Pointy one please

I think for my budget (up to 2k) I will be looking for a 53 or 54 reg pointy

Condition more important than colour (seeing as I cant have yellow)

Been keeping an eye on the for sale section, but thought a post in here may be worth while

I was considering a 1000 mainly due to my large frame but reckon after so long out of the saddle a 650 will be more than enough for my basic ability

Cheers

Stu

The 1000 and the 650 are the same size - you won't be more comfortable on one than the other. The 1000 weighs a bit more. Neither have particularly vicious power delivery, so with a little restraint, neither should catch you out - in fact, the better suspension on the 1000 might actually save your butt.

I can't see a reason not to get the 1000 if that's the bike you want, unless you really don't trust your right hand - but then even a 125 might be taking a risk.

Would have thought 650 would be able to pull that without too much trouble.

I am sure you are right, I guess the liking for yellow had something to do with it as well - but I do think a 650 will be more than enough for me

I know, wish I had a yellow one to (just gotta make do with a yellow lid for now).
If you do see a 650 pop up might be worth looking for one that's got modified suspension already or cheap enough for you to swap the suspension when you get it. if you can find the rear shock thread that's active at the moment , might give you an idea.,

looks good,
I'd be contemplating a new bike after summer not a clue what I'll go for though. Probably whatever's cheapest, you never know might leave it til the year after.
