Default Best Way to transport a Bike?

I need to get a bike back to mine and it is about 220 miles away, cant ride it as wont have suitable insurance.

Im thinking:

Van- how secure can you get them in the back??

Trailer - Would be a bit sh*t if it get soaked all the way back.

Transport Company - Looks expensive.

Get someone to ride it for me.

Cheers

Be sure to check though if you hire a van, my Dad hired a van to pick up 2 scooters once and when he got to the first place he went to put the scooter in and found out they had borded up the van on the inside so he had nothing he could tie the bikes too... luckily they didnt matter too much and were damaged any way

Could try using a site like Shiply to get quotes, up to you to make sure to choose someone you trust though.

BBadger used someone through it when he needed to get a bike to him (link to thread) and didn't have any problems that I know of.

yeah sides always get done, when you lease them to builders they leave loose shiz in the back and it will damage the side of the van and wheel arches, hence cladding. are you sure you dad isnt blind? its not like them to not cut out the tie downs
