Default Top Gear racing against a CBR

I was just watching an old episode of Top Gear on Dave and Clarkson was racing against a CBR600RR in an Atom. Now the Atom is fast but surely the bike should kick its backend? The guy who was riding the bike never took a good line around the track (maybe he wasn't allowed?) but it looked like he could have leant some more?

I found a YouTube of it. It starts at 4:39

Pretty cool
I seen one driving down the Motorway towards Edinburgh. The bloke never had a helmet on the windblast must be a bit sore and I hope he had ear plugs in

I'm not so sure, if that was the Atom 3 with a blower on it, its pushing out 300bhp, they dont weigh very much and have maybe more grip than a bike does. So better traction through the corners and possibly out of it...

Atoms can accelerate as quick as a bike depending on the spec and have 4 massive tyres holding onto the tarmac around corners, they also have twice the stopping power.

The 600rr would not stand a chance unless in a straight line, a 1000rr would destroy on straights but seriously struggle in corners.

Bikes will destroy most stuff on the road, but some cars will destroy bikes end of.

It is also much easier for a normal person to drive a car fast than it is for a normal person to ride a bike fast.

+1 I hate these embedded links.

They dont work at work or on my phone

They seem to be becoming more common too.
