Default Wolf Waterproof Textiles

I recently bought some wolf waterproof textiles for a trip to Scotland knowing that I'd probably be getting wet (even though I was going in May) and how right I was.

I brought the Wolf NJ-2100 Titanium 3/4 textile jacket and the Wolf TP-2105 Titanium textile jeans (these are the ones without the clever NASA outlast fabric but with traditional removable liners).

Those of you who are aware of the problems wolf had with the Titanium range of leathers, worry not. I'm not aware of any quality issues, and haven't discovered any myself.

I tested these through some of the worst conditions I've ridden in.

First day I did over 200 motorway miles in driving rain going probably a little faster than I should have in that weather. Didn't put waterproofs on because by the time I got to a decent place to suit up, I didn't fancy waterproofs over a wet outer layer so decided to do a proper test.

Got to Carlisle, and the only bit of me that was wet (in the suit area) was on my stomach where I didn't fold the zip cover in properly and was leaning on the tank (Shame my gloves and boots didn't hold up as well).

For the rest of the weekend I used waterproofs over the top because I knew it was going to be wet from the start (and it's always a ball ache to try and dry out a suit over night), however when we reached Aberdeenshire overconfidence in the forcast led to discarding the over suits - it started to rain again.

Fast sharp showers, again not a single leak. Almost immediatly afterwards we went up into the cairngorms where it was about 6 degrees plus winds that made you ride at a 30 degree lean along the ridge just to go straight. Even with a wet outer suit, and driving winds I didn't feel cold (well my hands did). All I had on underneath was a Helly Hansen and a cotton t-shirt on top and running tights on my legs.

I think these textiles look really good and do exactly the job they're supposed to. They have a great neck attachment for in the cold. Lots of tightening strap on the legs, arms and waist. Vents for if you get hot.

There is also a great selection of pockets. My iphone lived in the breast pocket and didn't even get damp. The only down point is that the cargo pockets on the trousers are quite small to fit between the vent and the strap, so couldn't fit my wallet in. Just had to choose a different pocket. Large pocket at the bottom of the back could carry almost anything you'd want.

All of this was before I'd put any additional waterproofing on. After 1400 miles I'm about to wash them in nikwax as I want these to last.

Really can't recommend them enough - Just wish I'd brought them in the first place rather than RSTs.

Got them from a place called motorcycle essentials round the corner from me. I'm sure you'll be able to get them in plenty of places up near you.

I take it back. The pocket lining's ripped.

Fair enough it's covered by the warrenty, but it's been with them nearly a month and I won't get a replacement until at least the end of the month. What if I didn't have another jacket?
