Unhappy Wearing hemet after a fractured cheek?

I got elbowed in the mush whilst playing a footy match on Fri (4th Nov) and found out that I have fractured my cheek right under my eye socket.

I've been told not to play contact sport for 6weeks, but can anyone who has had a similar experience give me an idea of when I will be able to wear my helmet without too much discomfort again?

Having suffered something similar, I suspect you'll find that wearing a lid probably won't be a problem, but putting it on and taking it off likely will be.

Cheers Sid for reply. I am now able to get it on and off without too much pain! I was fearing it would be months before i could ride my bike again.
