Default Health!

Here's the situation...

Im 5ft 2" and i weigh 6.3st (86lbs roughly)

Im underweight due to my metabolism, can't be helped. But the thing I've started to realise i have such a unhealthy lifestyle all i eat is takeaway, pot noodles, crisp and chocolate etc and rarely have proper meals i prefer crap. I don't do exercise either all i do is lounge around on xbox.

I've started to gain a little weight slowly but i want to get in a healthy routine. I've made a little work out routine example... Stomach crunches, sit ups, leg lifts and twisted sit ups after work and before bed just to tone uo the abdomen a tiny bit but the food.. Im struggling!

What's the best diet? What meats, fluid, fruit and vegetables intake do i need to obtain to be a healthy person? Is a food plan a good idea?

Eat crap, die early, skinny or not. You don't need a biker forum to advise you on your diet. Plenty of other forums for that. All I would say is check those healthy eating forums out, eat lots, but keep it balanced, and lay off the sugar unless you want to end up with diabetes.

I am also skinny as feck, and at 31 (almost), this shows no signs of changing. I used to eat a lot of crap because I could, but it doesn't help you put on weight. You've probably got the sort of metabolism that will destroy anything you put in it. I even had a "Always full" period where I made sure, whenever I could eat anything at all, I stuffed myself. STILL didn't put on weight, I just spent a fortune on food.

What you need to do is exercise. That's the only way you'll fill out. Eat plenty of healthy balanced food and do lots of exercise and you'll soon take on a healthier overall toned shape.

We're lucky to be like this. It's only a curse if you take advantage of it and kill yourself with crappy food and sit on your **** all day.

From the sounds of it a food plan wouldnt be a bad idea.

What you're eating is a very good way tohave no energy and feel lifeless all day.

Cut out as much sugar as you can stand. Fizzy drinks are the first ones you should drop.

And with what you eat it's not complicated, just real food. any mix of pasta/rice/potato with a meat type product(preferably not processed but why be picky), and either some veg or salad is fine at this point, eating healthy to gain weight is far easier than eating healthy to lose it.

Its not a good thing having high metabolism because we don't put weight on and don't exercise and eat crap BECAUSE we can... We then live unhealthy which will haunt us later in life.

Best advice I can give is to talk to a dietician and discuss a proper healthy diet. My sister is a dietician working for the NHS, they really do know what they are talking about.

It sounds like you are already aware but your weight alone is far from the only indicator of health when it comes to diet. Great idea (and much easier) to start dealing with it now than in 20 years.

Thanks for the advice
The only reason i won't go on a health forum is because they always say the same thing... Cut calories when i obviously can't afford to... I just want a different diet and regular exercise.

The only gift about myself is Im not bothered about my weight whether its fat.. Curvy or skinny! Im Amy

P.S my stomach is paying for it today ouch!

Not a forum, talk to a qualified dietician. No sensible dietician will advise you to cut calories unless thats necessary, which in your case doesnt sound at all likely. Getting the right amount of food containing the proper nutrients is what the body needs.

you are young. In 20 years time you will have tried every diet going and say it is not your fault it is your metabolism.

Eat a healthy diet, dump the junk it catches up with you.

I've been threatened with the "when you get to xx" you'll put on weight.

xx was originally 20, then 30, then 40.

For variety there were also the you'll put on weight when you get married and you'll put on weight when you have kids suggestions as well.

I'm 42, been married for nearly 10 years, have one child and still have a BMI of less than 20....

Food - moderation, something of everything but also make sure you enjoy what you're eating, otherwise eating becomes a chore.
