How much should I spend on an alarm for my pointy 650? I've seen they range from about £20 to hundreds, are the more expensive ones much better?
Can anyone recommend me an alarm? Am currently looking at this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Universal-...item2321b41ff6 It's very cheap, but is it worth spending more than this? Last edited by TCochrane; 19-01-13 at 04:50 PM. |

An alarm is only as good as the person who is going to get stuck in to prevent it being removed.
Ground anchors a chain and lock plus a disc lock with built in alarm is a better plan.

I would go to great lengths to avoid having an alarm because I hate them.
Spend the money on petrol and keep moving.

last thing you want is to be stuck in the middle of Ireland with a bike that wont start due to your alarm failing. mechanical security is more effective than an alarm IMHO. As Kenzie said, get yourself a Xena(or similar) alarmed disc lock and a decent chain.

Aftermarket alarms seem to only stop the owners riding away!!!
Xena disk lock with alarm gets my vote. (Stops you riding away with it still on too, tested!!! )
