Default Newbie questions!

Hi there everyone!

I have a few questions regarding track/race fairings for an SV650. Basically I have bought a pointy SV K5 and was wondering what race bodywork you guys recommend as I aim to put race fairings on and get the bike a daytime MOT so i can travel to trackdays for now whilst I dont have a van.
I have seen the AMS fairings and carbon/fibreglass seat unit and was wondering what if any experience people have with these, the fact they mount straight on is obviously an advantage.
But also I'm aware 675 fairings and some GSXR fairings can be modified to fit on, I'm not sure how much modification/hassle it is though and which years of GSXR are best.
I have also noticed the 08 fireblade seat units people use which look fairly nice!!
Last but not least what other recommendations would you have in terms of mods to do to get it track ready. I'm going to do braided brake lines and rear shock change so far, anything else really needed to begin with?
Thank you!!

AMS fairings. Now I can talk about these for as long as it took me to get them fitted. About 4 hours!!! Once fitted they do look nice and better when painted and stickered up. The seat unit is I have to admit looks great. Only bits to do will be get the exhaust strap fitted. Possible a bit better fitting against where the sub frame fits. So a bit of playing with a dremmle drill.

Front fairings where the OEM fittings were will need to be played about with a bit. The RAM air will need to be trimmed and its a pain in the back side finding the correct place to drill for the self tapper to go threw the plastic. Get yourself some Zeus fairing bolts. Once all lined up this will make life a bit easier when removing these for servicing and alike.

And one last thing, battery. You will need to relocate this unless you can make a bracket within the seat unit to hold this.

Hope this helps and don't put you off buying these.

HERES A PICTURE OF THE ALMOST FINISHED ITEM

Cheers for that very informative. That seat unit looks smarter on yours that it does on the bike on the AMS website!

Don't worry we need to fit the seat foam once we get to Scarborough. Bikes with FBM Performance Whaley Bridge Derbyshire or Trickbits in Northampton. Don't get to see it unless we get fed photos.
