Unhappy SV won't start!

Right as per title went to jump on the bike for work this morning, I've got ignition and lights, the starter motor turns but the engine won't start. The bike last went anywhere Friday and was last started yesterday for about 5 mins to check my oil level. I also charged the battery yesterday and it seemed okay. The bike lives under a cover outside and both bike and cover were dry when I put them on yesterday (bike was cool too). So someone want to point me out a good place to start? Thanks!

Petrol: availability, quality, pump priming.
Air: snorkel/airfilter not blocked.
Sparks: plug out and grounded to chassis ( easy on 2007 onwards with side plug on front cylinder)
then
Error code check.

Petrol tank 2/3 full, shell fuelsave fuel and I can hear it is priming.
Snorkel clear, air filter pretty clean, no blockages, seated properly.
No Error code being displayed atm.
What am I looking for with plugs out and grounded (sorry bike electronics are a major weak point)?
Thanks

Before you do too much mechanically - you have tried opening the throttle while hitting the start button, haven't you?

My car often refuses to start without you pressing the throttle if the engine has only run for a few minutes the last time it was used - obv something to do with shutting off the engine while it's cold and running rich.

I've know a colleage's car do the same after she tried starting it after moving it a short distance the previous day. The RAC guy simply stood on the throttle pedal and it started straight away.

Might have no relevance but they're both injected petrol engines so it's worth a try.

Thanks for the vid, very useful and the easy to access plug is firing fine, I have tried using some throttle to start the engine, but I'm conscious that if I use too much I'm going to flood it!

Do your indicators work?
As I found out the fuel pump is on the same fuse!
Same symptoms!

I've got indicators, alas if it was that easy...

What are the symptoms when you turn the motor over? How long do you crank it for? Any spluttering etc? Might help someone diagnose. Also if it started yesterday and you did some stuff (no matter how minor) and it's not starting now, try and retrace your steps. Perhaps something you did accidentally last time is the culprit. The amount of times I've done something 'small' and nudged a connector or similar and broken something!

Also why do you start the engine to check your oil level?
