Hi,
Just noticed that my SV650SK4 is "lurching" at little when I change gear, it doesn't do it from cold, but after getting up to operating temperature it seems that as I close the throttle and select another gear the revs haven't dropped off enough and I get a slight lurch - even if I deliberately change much more slowly than normal it will do it. I've had a glance through the Haynes manual but can't find anything definitive - although I am hoping it's something simple like a throttle cable needing a bit of adjustment Anyone else had this experience please? Cheers

Hiya, - May be your throttle cables being a bit stuck up - take them off at the twistgrip and put some really penetrating light oil in there I've used ATF (auto trans Fluid) There are some thoughts that you shouldn't put anything down the cables as some have a Teflon coating in - but Ive had no problems - also used this on the clutch cable when that was stiff. - Cheers

Thanks, I've just come back from a ride and had a poke around - the clutch locking wheel thing (the one that hides under the rubber gaiter) had come loose, probably vibrated loose I guess, so I've re-adjusted the clutch and tightened it all off, wasn't sure about lubing the cables for the reason you state, but maybe if it still plays up I'll give that a try!
Cheers again

I've never had a problem living Teflon lined cables. But there again I use PTFE lube!

If the problem isn't actually the throttle physically sticking, then thoughts move toward tickover speed and throttle balance, or a combination thereof.
