Default 16T front sprocket

Is there enough chain slack in a standard chain to fit a 16T front sprocket?

just... i run a 16t front with the original OEM chain. 16t front sprocket is great if you mainly use M/W or commute but is a pita for the twisty fast stuff as it 'pushes' you into corners, this makes you have to change down occasionally just before entry. contrary to what you might read it does not save on fuel, i have seen no difference.

When Bibio says he doesn't notice a difference in his fuel consumption, you need to remember he gets 250+ miles out of a standard SV tank.

Like the Bibs, I have a 16T on my curvy SVS and it does just fit with the std chain.

As described, nicer on longer rides, more relaxed, no longer try for "7th" gear, no noticeable (or at the very best it's marginal) difference in fuel economy, and yes on more interesting roads I use 4th & 5th more than with the std 15T so needs a slight re-map of the brain. I prefer it, but it's a personal thing.
