Default Clutch problem

I have recently had my 03 K3 repaired after a prang and riding home tonight I noticed more and more play in the clutch lever. I got home by using the tightener, but it slipped even more and that is at the most taught it can get.

I am thinking that something has come loose inside the clutch mechanism and the cable is slipping? The bike has only done 6.5k miles so it is unlikely to be a knackered clutch.

Anyone got any ideas?

there is an adjuster under the plastic cover near the rear engine sprocket

i would check there to see if its loose,if not it can be adjusted there by slackening the locknut rotating the adjuster till it just touches and then retightning the locknut.

hope this helps mate.

Definitely - same problem on my bike after getting it home for the first time. Kept adjusting at the lever and it kept slipping again so I couldn't get it in gear. Turned out to be a loose lock nut as amarko5 describes. That and too much oil was my problem.

Right - problem solved - locknut was not only loose but actually had come off! All right now.

Thanks for the responses.
