I have just installed a bike alarm to my sv650 k3. The instructions with the ararm said cut the lead that comes from the ignition switch which should disable it, and connect the alarm in it's place so acting like a switch, I could not get at the ignition switch leades as they were tight behind the rad and frame.
So I throught the engine cut off is just like the kill switch, so I cut the orange and blue wire that goes into the fuse box from the kill switch on the handle bars and connected the ararm in it's place, GREAT the alarm works and the engine cut off works, BUT each time the ararm cuts the engine it blows the 10a fuse on the ignition system. WHY Has an one got any ideal of the wire / colour and location of this wire, I should cut to allow my bike alarm to cut the engine if some tries and steals it ? |

at a guess the lead that comes from the ignition switch
![]() If that is the wire the manual says to use, then i would use that wire, there will be a way of getting at the wire. |
