Side Stand 2000 SV650 - SV650.org

I have recently purchased a 2000 SV 650. It seems to me that it leans farther than is I would like it to when on the side stand. Is this a common problem? Is there an after market side stand that can be bought or an adjustment that can be made?

yep, that's the way they are, Sir.

I fitted an alum block around 10-12mm thick to the underside of the foot, cut to shape, radiused slightly on the bottom to sit nicely on the ground.
Drilled a hole through the centre of the foot and tapped a hole M6 in the block, bolted on with a stainless capscrew and some thread lock.

Experiment with some different thickness spacers to see what suits your bike, suspension setting, tyres etc.

I don;t find that at all- I just replaced my sidestand as the old one was a bit bent, andneither of them bothered me by leaning too far despite the fact that I've got the bike raised at the rear. however, the new one's not been modified at all while teh old one had the little cut to make it swing urther forwards (and therefore make it less likely that the bike'll fall over) so I'm a bit paranoid just now...
