Default A place to go? from plymouth

I work at funny times so this meens that i have most of the day off and if the wether is nice get the urge to go for a ride by my self as m8's are at work. I live in Plymouth and am trying to think of some places to go. My old route is to totness, kingsbrige, modbry (all grate roads) but i have to wait till plymouth and captian jasspers for a cup of tea.
Has any one got a difrent route to try?

Hi unlucky,

I'm also in Plymouth and in a similar position to you in that I work a 4 on 2 off shift pattern, which means I work a lot of weekends and have time off in the week.

A good route would be anything that includes the "Torpoint Twisties". Go across on the ferry and just follow the road up to Trurulefoot roundabout. The do the same in reverse. Or turn off to Looe just before the roundabout if you want to go a bit further

For a bit longer ride Bude is always a good blast, via Saltash, Callington, Launceston. Then up the A39 to Bideford, then A386 back to Oakehampton, then Plymouth. I think its about 150 mile roundtrip.

Let me know next time your going out and I'll see if I can make it.
Whereabouts in Plymouth are you ?

I'm also in Plympton

The A39 Bude to Bideford road is a cracker. One of the best in Devon. There are some tight corners which may catch you out, (did me when I first rode it ) but all are sign posted.

Check out www.southwestbikers.com for a good bunch of local bikers, although most rideouts are organised for Sundays, so I cant always attend.
