Hi all,
Just got my new Veypor computer (www.veypor.co.uk) and fitted it yesterday. Excellent bit of kit, not used most of the features yet but very handy for gear indication, speed etc. and a shift light. Doddle to fit as well. Interestingly though it shows a big difference from the standard rev counter - about 15% less. It shows 5.5k and the rev counter shows 6.2ish for example. The veypor takes the feed straight from the ignition coil ecu feed so should be pretty accurate. Anyone know if this lack of accuracy on the standard guage is to be expected?? If so anything I can do about it? Cheers |

Classic Parallax Error.
Analogue rev counters have always been known for their bad accuracy. Bear in mind that they're just cheap dials, with cheap scales on them, and mass produced - probably little or no calibration done on them. What they're really there for is a relative indication of how many revs you're doing. If you like to shift at 8,000 rpm, then that's fine... it doesn't really matter if it is 8,000 rpm or not, but that's just where you like to change gear.
