Rattling noise - rear brake - SV650.org

I changed my rear brake pads about a month ago.

Yesterday I had to make a quick stop so I used both brakes, suddenly the rear brake made a rattling noise

.

After examining it - it seems like the brake pads are in contact with the brake disc all the time!! They are grinding it all the time.

After riding - regardless if I used the rear brake or not - the break disc is extremely hot!

The rattling noise is only when I push the break leaver down completely...

What have I done wrong

Any ideas ?

I just remembered:

I didn't put copper grease on the back of the chatter shims as it didn't say anything about them in the Haynes Manual.

I only put copper grease on the back of the pads.

Could this be the problem? Do i have to grease the chatter shims aswell ?

After watching the Superbike First AID DVD I'm pretty sure it's the wheel bearings.

I locked the rear brake today and tryed to rotate the wheel and it makes a "click" noise everytime.

Could this be it

Make sure the brake is retracting properly, if the caliper is a bit sticky - not unusual - that would easily account for the problems you describe, noises included.
