Default Ermax Undertray question

I've got an Ermax undertray on the bike at the moment, the kind that has built-in LED indicators (i'll add a pic if I can find one).

I was really happy with the way it looked at first, but now I'm getting a bit paranoid that the indicators are barely visible from the rear of the bike, they're fairly obstructed by the number plate - and i reckon they'll be completely invisible with pannier bags fitted (as I plan to go across to Europe on it sometime, this is quite likely!)

Aside from going down the obvious (and illegal) route of a smaller plate, I was thinking of trying to modify the undertray and adding some more conventional stalked indicators. Also, as I'll eventually need it for the MOT, i was considering adding a numberplate light and rear reflector.

What I need to know is, is it worth my time / effort trying to modify the existing undertray or would I be better off putting my old one on ebay and buying a new one?

N.B. I have little or no experience of working on bikes so all suggestions greatly apperciated, but please be gentle

Cheers

i have a ermax tail tidy spare.
i fitted it to my bike and didn't use locktite on the number plate bracket screws and it is slightly bent but still useable.

you can use it with the old undertray and fit the light and reflector on it and it has mounting points for the indacators

maby we could come to a deal?

I'll definitely keep it in mind - just weighing up my options at the moment but If i decide to go ahead with it I'd definitely be interested.

It doesnt help that the dealer didnt give me back the old undertray - just the snow shovel plastic bit - or is this all that was taken off anyway? It seems like there should be more to it when i look at it...
