Default Recognition - AT LAST - for a Great British Sportsman.

I'm talking Phil "The Power" Taylor here, multi-World Darts Champion. At last he has received proper International recognition with a place on Matt Dawson's team in "A Question of Sport". And what a performance he gave!

No doubt about it, his two correct answers (to particularly devilish questions: "What number on the dart-board is between the 5 and the 1?", and "Which end of the dart has feathers on?") contributed massively to the Dawson Team's crushing victory of 18 - 17.

It's not before time that this fine sportsman receives such centre-stage star treatment, and in a real bear-pit of competition too.

we have a board at work, i love the game.. a lot more accurate now, average about 70 in 3 darts and can hit treble 20 more than i hit 1 now still need to work on finishing though, double 4 and double 18 are my favourites.. but anything lower than 6 and 11 leaves a lot to be desired

Question of Sport. Ha ha ha. Is that still running? I used to be allowed stay up to watch that. With Bill Beaumont and em, Emlyn Hughes. Who was a nutcase. Classic. And they would get some rugby league player from some team in fecking Swaziland and a speed walker from Peckham or something, and they would all get off the chairs and tilt their heads to try and guess the sportstar photo round.

Ahh. Classic.

How long has that thing been running for now? At least 20 years.

Sorry, darts is no more a sport than chess or tiddlywinks IMO. It's a pub game; even foosball has more physicallity to it. Even ten pin bowling is pushing its luck trying to be called a "sport" a bit, IMO.
