Default rear brake pads/disc rubbing

annoying speed related squeek from rear pad/disc touching, a light dab of the rear brake cures it for a while then it happens again.

cure?

thanks.
Will.

a good clean, Copaslip the pad backs, will sort it in most cases, if not then a proper service and change of the seals.

or possibly the piston isn't retracting properly (normally because of crud around it).

it'll eat your pads, may boil your brake fluid (it'll go black), and could even kill the disc.

Either get it done, or sort it yourself, but don't leave it, it'll end up costing you more in the long run.

Cheers Mark

on a 'similar' note...
i have had my back wheel off and upon refit, i notice the brake is rubbing a lot, the back wheel wont freely spin.
i have a flat battery (charging) so couldnt start it up to see if the servo will clear it up....

just wondering why it may be rubbing?
will the servo clear it up???

cheers

servo? what servo?

the pads aren't actively retracted, but pushed away from the disc as it turns, if they are rubbing the the piston is having a hard time slidding back, this is normally because it's binding a bit and needs a good clean.

Cheers Mark.

Pop the pads out, and move the pistons out a little,c lean them up, and see if they move freely or not.
