Default rules! made by people with no experience?

how fair is it that at the age of 17...if you were made of money..you could theoreticaly get your licence and then a bugatti veyron!

yet!
if you want to ride a bike you get stuck on a 33bhp 125cc bike?

FAIR? I THINK NOT!!!!

however unfair we've had this one before mate, ****e we all know but buying a veyron at 17 is very unlikely unless your dad is david beckham

Hell I couldn't afford a 33bhp+ bike until I was getting into my mid twenties and I didn't even own a car! Nowadays all these kids seem to be able to afford to go out and buy 1 litre sports bikes straight after passing their test.

Thats not fair! Obviously people have too much money these days so you need rules in place to stop them killing themselves and putting our premiums up!

Yep.

Car ownership is a bit more self selecting. Only a tiny minority of 17 year olds could afford to buy a Veyron, far less insure the thing- but it's realtively easy to get, say, a GSXR600 SRAD for £2000 and insure it TP. Least, that's teh justification.

Also, bike are deadly, dontchaknow.

Yeah its still easier to get a high performance bike than a high performance car despite all the rules.

Lets face it you will probably never own a car as quick as the SV in terms of acceleration regardless of age yet you can have an SV in your early 20's.

I was riding through a 30 limit today and 3 of these scooter kids came flying past me doing about 40. They were going past junctions with cars waiting to pull out at that speed and it made me wince. In those situations I am riding as slow as possible with my eyes focussed on the drivers eyes and my hand on the brake. These jokers weren't looking as they were too busy looking behind at me as if it was some kind of joke that they passed me and were riding close and lifting up their helmets talking to each other.

You don't want to make it easy for people like that to pick up some used SS600 with TP insurance as northwind said.

I was coming home yesterday past Donington Park, it was a classic car show and this TVR or something similar thought it was quite funny to try and knock me off. I anticipated where he was going and let him go on.

My life is more important than some boy racer telling stories in the pub of how he beat a motorcycle

dont ya think they might have more support from us bikers if they made similar rules for cars rather than depend on weather or not a 17 yo could afford a veyron or not?
