To stainless steel or not to stainless steel...... - SV650.org

In my never ending quest to get rid of as many rusty nuts, bolts and washers as possible, I'm unsure of which parts to change and not to change.
At the moment, I'm pondering the disc mounting bolts and sprocket mounting bolts due to the forces involved in both.

I also want to do something about the rusting axles but can't afford titanium ones, can i get them plated in some way with something apart from rust?

and can i get some stainless steel chain adjuster plates?

You could chuck away the axles and get better condition standard ones, that's what I did.

But how could i permanently treat these to stop/prevent them rusting

Move to a country where they don't put salt on the roads

take them out and wash and grease them very regularly

But there is lots of dust in certian areas which is another danger.

You could get your bits Nickel plated (bike bits,not YOUR bits,that would be painful,I'd imagine)
