Default Backfiring exhaust.

I have fitted a high level remus can to my pointy and taken the baffle out (of course).

The trouble is the bike is now back firing. Is this because the bike is running too lean? Has anyone else had this trouble with a remus can? I thought the ECU could cope with a minor adjustment of changing the exhaust can.

If so what is the solution???

its normal, and its fine. You might have a bit of air seeping in, so make sure everythings tight.

I thought a back fire was caused by unburnt fuel igniting in the exhaust chamber? Is the back fire more likely caused by air leaking in the can joints??

Got to admit it sounds mint, just don't want to do the bike any damage.

Thats probably what it is, is it a loud bang or a small pop. If its a pop don't worry about it, if its a loud bang then what you might want to do, is to take the can off the bike, get some builders clear silicone or silicone bathroom sealant and smear that over the joints and then refit the can and that'll seal any gaps which should stop it.

Its more of a crack. So a saying it was a bang would be over stating it a little.

If its burbling then its a live with it nice sound, if its the ocasional pop then its ok too, if its all the time then its probably an air leak then do as Fizz says or live with it.
