Default Take pics of your bike before handing the keys over!

Just a bit of advice to all the members of SV650.org, please make sure you take pictures of your bike, with a time stamp if you can, before you hand the keys over for any garage to work on it, including the more reputable dealers too!

I don't really want to disclose anything yet, as the matter has yet to be dealt with, but after handing my keys over last week to a reputable dealer so they could fix an idle problem that my bike had developed, I get home today to find the frame of my bike has deep scratches on the right hand side just below the tank and also some more on the frame directly under the tank around the airbox . It's not something I thought I would have to worry about with the dealer in question, but I guess this is why people find it so hard to trust anyone nowadays.

Not just Suzuki, this happened to my fathers brand new VFR.

Sounds like good advice!

I got my SRX back from a dealer in Streatham with a huge dent on the top of the tank - they swore blind that it couldn't possibly have happened in the workshop, and refused to accept any responsibility I was leaving the country the next day so couldn't stay around to argue with them either...

They've had the airbox off and been too lazy to remove all the connections properly and stuck it over the side. I know this because I did it on mine.

But a Suzuki dealer should know better!

Bunch of cowboys! Yeeha!

Thanks Dan, that's just confirmed what I thought had happened.

You would think wouldn't you , but the sad fact is it takes me two hours to get there and the reason I did it is because this was supposedly a reputable dealership known for their excellent workmanship.

At our land rover dealer a service advisor goes over the car with the customer (or is supposed to, usually doesn't). Did nothing like this happen for you?

The dealer I bought my used car from offers great service too, always professional, nothing is too much to do and I've yet to be charged with any work they've had to do on the car which they could have claimed is just down to "wear and tear".

For my bike I've dealt with two authorised Suzuki dealers and so far I've had nothing but **** service from both, both have damaged my bike and to be honest it's made me question whether it's worth all the hassle, or is it just the "Suzuki experience" I've been unlucky enough to sample?

Having said that, on my way home from the dealership a K6 GSXR 600 just had to call out challenging me to keep up through the busy streets of London in rush hour traffic, both of us were flying through, taking turns in leading, and that's a buzz you just don't get with driving.

Unfortunately, there are very few people I trust. Lamba Motorcycles is the one dealer I trust and thats because I know the people there.
