Default carrying a pillion on a sv

Gonna need to start carrying a pillion fairly regulary on my sv650 trouble is I'm 15 stone , therefore combined weight is about 25 stone , which I would image would be hard work on the sv , any one have experience pillion on a sv

Cheers Steve

Hello m8,

Should be fine, i'm 15 stone and used to take my mrs on the back all the time. Just remember to check the tyes and chain more often.

I'm more like 13 stone but combined with The Redhead and our luggage we're well over 25 stone, and we have no problems.

I used to carry a 16 stone mate on mine from time to time, it was fine. I guess it helped that he was an experienced pillion having spent years on the back of his brother's bike. I just wound the rear preload up a bit so the back sank less with him on it, and got on with it. It needed a few more revs to accelerate smartly but the bike coped fine with it. After a few minutes you almost forgot he was there!

But when solo again it felt soooo much quicker!!
