Default carrying tablet on sv

I need to carry my hp tablet on my sv , therefore looks like I need to buy a topbox , I know they look c##p , however need a secure / waterproof transport method . Have carried tablet in my rucksack but not happy carrying it for safety reasons , don't fancy a broken tablet stuck in my back.

Found a ebay shop from CMS Motorcycles all in for 139+10p+p as per link http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/givi-luggage-t...tcZphotoQQcmdZ

Tablet is 28.5 x 23.5 cm will fit in a 34 l box ?

Any one used CMS on ebay before ?

Cheers Steve

Black plastic bag and a bungee net IMO. Cost £5.

Are you going to put the tablet in a bag before you stick it in the top box?

Will put tablet in a case , Bath re black bags & bungee , not sure I'd be that popular if I lost a 1500 quid tablet .

Cheers Steve

Hi, Steveg,

I've never used CMS on ebay but I've been to their "real" shop in Pinhoe, Exeter, fairly frequently and always been treated well and got as good a deal as I could wish for.
I've bought helmets, visors, gloves, boots, Oxford soft panniers, tank bag, tyres, cables, chain, locks, oils, etc etc and not had any hassle.
Indeed, when I bought the "wrong" chain to get a reduction in my insurance they were very understanding and sorted my mistake out immediately.

HTH
Cheers

I used their ebay shop to buy a givi top box and i it was fine - arrived very quickly and price was very good.

I got a bigger one than the one in your pic - i think its 45 litres, and it really is huge. On my commute to work it easily holds a suit, shirt, tie, shoes, towel and toiletries, all in a suit holder / weekend bag type thing. It would easily take a laptop as well but probably not in a carry case.

I take my laptop in a tank bag. You can get some quite smart tank bags that do not look out of place as a laptop carry case in the office.

Hope that help.

I use a rucksack and put my laptop into a Canoe sack that I got from millets for about a tenner. The canoe sack is guaranteed waterproof, and my rucksack is big enough for my office kit including laptop and waterproofs for the inevitable break in the weather.

IMHO a top box is overkill because of the cost - unless of course you're ok with the cost side of things.

Nugget me - I withdraw the above because I can't read.........
