Default Metzeler Z6 tyre pressures (old topic)

Been searching old posts and found what I was after:

36/42

Though at the end of the discussion Northy posted this:

Which seems sort of reasonable, though never got answered. Just curious as whether anyone had any thoughts?

Thanks
Luke

When i had the recomended pressures in my current tyres, they felf awful.

I would say that those would be a maximum pressure, and to be honest, play around with them until you find the right setting for you. You and only you will know how they feel and what youa re happy with.

For the record, i run 34f40r on my contis, and run the same on the girlfriends bike who runs Z6's...which i will form tomorrow as well

Recommended pressure for Z6s on my SV1000 is definitely 36/42 - I checked when I had my new rear fitted last week.

I phoned Metzeler as their fitment guide thingy on the website was down.

The official pressures are 33/36.

Yep, that's what Metzler say. They also say to replace fronts at the same time as rears, and to never ever plug a puncture... I tried the Roadtecs at 33/36, didn't like it, I run them at 36/40 now and they're much happier- though I've been tempted to drop them back to 33/36 just so I can get rid of my chuicken strips

Well I'll do anything to reduce chicken strips! Maybe I'll run them at 20psi front and back!
