Default Electrics on a 97 CG125

Well had the "new" bike out last night.

Seems I have an electrical problem.

At low revs, the headlight seriously dims, and the rear light is all but off, the indicators either dont flash, or flash fast but dim.

If I give it some throttle then everything falls into place - all lights work ok.

My suspicion is the battery - could be a bit flat (the bike has sat around for a bit prior to me getting it - or could be dead.

Any simple test I can do? - Should I just replace the battery anyway?

Any other thoughts?

David

It almost certainly is the battery.
I ran a 92 CG for almost a year and never once bothered connecting the battery and the symptoms were pretty much identical.

Cheers - just looked online and its about a tenner for a new battery - and there is a place just down the road

Might go at my lunch break so that I have lights for tomorrow night when I head over to Frith St (assuming its on)

I've got a CG125-BR at home. I'll have the seat off & take a look when I get home tonight.

If I have, consider it yours (subject to P&P )

try giving the battery a good old charge, check there is enough fluid in there, and check the connectors are all clean.

could save you a tenner for the new battery.
