Default DVLA Weirdness

Howdy,

In October last year, I exported my bike to Sweden, where I now live.
So I sent off the relevant bit of the V5 saying it was being exported. On the basis that I didn't get an angry letter demanding I pay my road tax, I assume that they recieved it.
Then last week, a letter arrives at my Mums house (addressed to me, I must have used her address for some reason) saying 'we have a problem with our records, please can you provide us with the following information, not from the V5, but from the bike itself'
The information asked for was VIN numbere, engine number etc.

So anyone have any idea what's going on??

I'd guess just routine, updating records. The recent move to a fully computerised MOT system has seen MOT testers having to verify DVLA's records for them and re-enter all this info.
