...has just splashed out on her own alpinestars jacket. Woo! Now i can take her out for a ride when i get going on the SV
Its a better jacket than mine, think I'll have to buy one soon... ...but a nice winter jacket. There was one in superbike magazine this month that looked good, a Frank Thomas one. Does anyone have one? Are they good? Matt |

Not familiar with the one featured in Superbike mag, but I have a Frank Thomas fabric winter jacket. Dunno what model it is.
Its great. Fits like a glove (I struggle with bike clothing as I'm a short small guy), removable thermo lining. Plenty of pockets, ventilation zips for the summer, and armour that barely moves. Only downer is that the armour is fixed in, so will have to get it professionally cleaned, rather than throwing it into the washing machine. The great finishing touch is that the connecting zip works with my Hein Gericke leather trousers |

No comlaints about the one I got.. "Full Force Aqua" or summit like that.
Bought it for the daily trip to work, been using it for about 4 months and never let water through yet. It's got straps to pull the waist in if needed, stops it flapping about like my old one ![]() |

![]() Only thing is i have managed to pull one of the rubber caps off a popper on the front and it rubs the tank. You're lucky you mrs has bought her own gear! I bought the gear for mine on the promise she'd chip in.... but i'm never going to see that money again!!! Its worth it though because she loves coming out on the bike. |

One of my mates used to work at Frank Thomas and reckons their gear is proper shonky.
However, I do have FT leather trousers which have never let me down, so I don't know how much truth there is in that. |

Of course it's an actual word*!
Shonky = naff, dodgy, suspect, unreliable, etc. *The Oxford English Dictionary denies all liabilities relating to this post. |
