Right, if you saw my last thread i have now ended my two year restriction and am now at last at full power!! i have been asked a couple of times to let people know what the difference is so here we go.
I was once told by someone that the difference between a restricted and full power SV is very little, but.....well they were talking cr*p. the increase in performance IMO in massive, not only does it finally pull all through the rev range it pulls with much more aggression, just pull back your wrist and watch the needle reach the 100mph mark so quick!! its great, (on a private road of course) everything seems more responsive, tighter, just altogether feels how it should feel. I have not experimented with the top end speed, i'm not really all that interested with it, been up to a tun 20, and it didn't feel that it wanted to stop, i recon it would get to 130 140, but not much more, but to honest that is what i would expect because of write ups on the bikes. the biggest thing that gets me is the acceleration, from a stand still it just climes so fast compared to being at 33. it just seems to keep going, it has taken me a while to get used to how much quicker the revs pick up, i have found myself bouncing of the red line a couple of times now. the mid range power.....wicked, overtaking is so much easier, and IMO safer. the bike sounds nicer IMO, i have a race can on her and i think it is slightly louder, and has a much different tone, all together great!!!!!! to all of you out there that are on a 33 license, and wondering what difference you will see, i promise you, you will love it!!!! i am very happy with the extra power, it has brought a new life to my little baby!!! i hope this is help to those of you that asked!! |

Nice one, take it easy. I hit the limiter in top and reached an indicated 131 and I was tucked in so much you'd have thought I was part of the bike! Didn't particularly like it though!

Well it would be a jump from 70 to over 100 bhp in a minute for me!
Like a SV650 to a SV1000! Very big difference. The 33bhp thing is total garbage and should be binned. ![]() |

Jimmy2feet, good news on the upgrade.
If you're anything like me, I give it 6 months until you're wanting to increase the bhp again. I'm currently looking anywhere between 112bhp (kwak zx636) right the way through to an R1. Unfortunately my bank manager doesn't appreciate bikes like me, and has a problem with the cost of insurance ![]() |
