parking in Manchester CC

Going to a meeting in Manchester city centre (next to piccadilly gardens). Does anyone know if there is a reasonably safe place nearby to leave a bike there?

most bikes park in
1. albert square
2. in a lane by the town hall. (actually leaning on to the hall!)
3. I tend to drive down deansgate then turn right at some lights with a no turn right sign (its only for cars) parking opposite marks and spencer
4. another good one is to turn off portland street on to charlotte street, then turn right at fountain street and you'll see loads of bikes chained up in a bike park. this is probably the nearest dedicated bike park.
