Default Resistors or relay

I have a nice pair of fairing indicators for my curvy. I also have some resistors.
But if i want to change the relay to an electronic one that understands less load generated by leds any ideas. According to Haynes the relay is just not for signals, but is some kind of multifunction turn signal side stand one.
There are two wires for indies if i disconnect those and put in the electronic relay does it have any effect to other systems in my bike?

How have you lads solved this problem?

Cheers

The relay is for a multitude of things. The coil positive is taken from the engine kill switch & brake lights, the negative goes to the indicator switch. You cannot (IMO) remove these two wires without affecting the bike severly (lack of engine start, no brake lights, lack of horn, lack of fan, etc etc).

Not a good idea to start playing with this relay.

However, if you really want to use a different relay for the lights...

The indicator positive is taken directly from the indicator switch, and is then passed to the dash lights in parallel with the bulbs. This applies for both sides of the bike.

Playing with the electrics here really wont help much with the timing due to resistance, and disconnecting the indicators from the timing relay that comes with the bike will affect a LOT of other systems, and each of those would need re-wiring.

IMO, it's far, far simpler to just use resistors.

The wiring diagram I've been looking at doesn't list a brown wire attached to the relay.

Tread with caution, but if it's that easy, go for it

So i understood from the wiring diagram that the relay is just built in to this unit. Thus it works like a separate 2-wire relay... Well in a couple of week the front end gets a spring change i`ll start with the resistors after all the system is designed to specific load of yesterdays technology

Cheers
