Has anyone got one of these, i was looking at fogcity but any other manufactuers names would be helpfull?
Do they work properly and provide full sun protection like a dark visor and go fully clear like a clear visor? Do they wear out? I am also trying to fit one to an arai with a pinlock visor, i was looking at one of the fog city ones but the woman at the shop tells me it had to be stuck in, which kind of makes the pinlock redundant, is she telling porkies and if not does someone make a non sticky pinlock version. Many thanks |

yep i got 1 and yes it does what it says on the tin mine is stuck into my shoei visor which isnt pinlock ready and is the only way to be legal, i do have a mirrord visor on my arai which keeps out much more sun light but i have to carry my clear one round with me all the time.

The fogcity ones do have to stuck to the visor. If you've got a pinlock stick with that as they work better IMHO and theres less ghosting at night with a pinlock.
I dont know if they do a light reactive pinlock insert though... I use two visors, dark for the daytime and clear for evening. I've got a yellow pinlock for those dull overcast days, works great.

i've got a fog city photoreactive lens and an arai with pin inserts. pretty easy to fit (apart from a tiny bit of backing tape which really annoys me!). the lens does not completely mimic the effect of sunglasses, it doesn't get that dark but it does mean i can see very clearly in very bright days - handy with a wet road reflecting light. i haven't yet felt the need to wear sunglasses instead.

Got a cheap progrip one - does not react to light like it's supposed to, Fogcity might be better.
Ask Gmonsta if his works - mine might be a dodgy one. |

I've got a Fog City, and it's great for fog prevention but the light reactive thing's a gimmick IMO, it's not dark enough to make any difference on a bright day...

Mine is a "hyper optiks"...brand i cannot remember and it is great even in bright direct sunlight..turns a nice dark shade of blue. I have had it in my helmet for going on 18months and it is as good as ever. There was a period though(about a week) where it randomly refused to change colour..service as usual now though

hmmm i think i'm going to get a tinted pinlock insert now for my shoei.
But what do you all think??? Light tint, or dark tint. Iwant to be able to see when the sun is low in the morning, and on wet roads. But i can't be arsed to take it off if a cloud comes over and i can see bugger all... Light tint?? |
