The Mass I would wager.

He goes from Somewhere near Cardiff all the way along the M4 to Swindon everyday IIRC

Definately mad to do the distance every day.

Id see about finding a relatively cheap pad near your place of work, stay there during week and come home on weekends. It doesnt need to be something flash -just a bedsit or something.

A consultant i know lives in York and commutes daily by the train to Kings Cross. But his makes sense. where he lived before it took 2 hours to battle into Kings Cross on Tubes etc... where as now he jumps on an early train in York, 2 hours later hes there.

Does it first class.. the savings he makes are great compared to what it cost him before.. not just financially but stress wise too.

Whoa...

You guys are hardcore..

I live just short of 30 miles from where I work, but my round trip is 90 miles. I do 30 miles there, 60 miles back (through twisties on the way home of course )

My commute is now a 15 minute walk along the river side to the CBD area of town. One side of the river is mainly retail, the other side is the largest area of office blocks in York. Something like 30-40,000 office workers in 1/2 square mile. Its crazy in the pubs after work on a friday!

Yup.. its actually a nice stress free walk into the office... :P

I live in Preston, my office is Rugby. A distance of about 145 miles.

9 months of commuting nearly killed me. leaving home at 5 am, fighting the M6 through Birminham, get into Rugby for about 7:30 breakfast and then settle down for a days work, leave at about 6 and home for about 8:30pm

I did it as it seemed to be an improvement to travelling to Paris a couple of times a week.

So now I go into the office as and when I need to, my health ain't worth it. My bosses used to say why don't I stay over. I had to disappoint them and tell them I have a life and family.

I refuse to do the journey on a Friday anymore, it is madness and thank god for the M6 toll
